JENIN: Israeli colonists today attacked employees working for the Dahr al-Abd Village Council in the Ya’bad area, west of Jenin, held them and seized their equipment.

The head of the village council of Dhahr al-Abd, Tariq Amarneh, said that a group of colonists, who were establishing a colonial outpost in an area close to the village, attacked the employees and the deputy head of the council, Kamal Amarneh, and briefly detained them for hours.

The colonists further prevented the staff from working on a project to build a 4-kilometer agricultural road and forced them to leave at gunpoint.

Amarneh pointed out that the project is being implemented through the Directorate of Agriculture and the Land Research Center, with support and funding from the Dutch government.

He said colonists are surging their acts of violence against Palestinian farmers in an attempt to force them out of their lands for the benefit of more colonial activity. Amarneh also highlighted the massive destruction committed by the colonists
against Palestinian people and their property in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
