Cooperation between north, south of Mediterranean inevitable to achieve joint aims

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid asserted on Monday that cooperation between the north and the south of the Mediterranean has become inevitable to achieve joint aims and face challenges.

Abu Zeid’s remarks came in a tweet on the occasion of Mediterranean Day (MED DAY), observed on November 28.

Egypt comes in a unique rank in the Mediterranean region due to its distinguished position and history, the Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry asserted the importance of Mediterranean regional cooperation to face joint challenges in the region topped by the climate change, food and energy security, facing illegal migration, combating extremism and boosting social and economic development.
