ABU DHABI: The Council of Retired Diplomats hosted an Iftar during Ramadan for ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions in the UAE, attended by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, and several officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Saeed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Council of Retired Diplomats, delivered a welcoming speech affirming the council’s keenness to organise similar events and meetings that reflect values of coexistence, tolerance and acceptance, which constitute an unwavering aspect of the UAE’s society.

Al Shamsi noted that these meetings present an opportunity to deepen ties of fraternity, friendship, and cooperation between nations, and offer a chance to learn about cultural diversity during the holy month of Ramadan, a month of empathy and benevolence.
