Damascus, SANA- Syria condemned the US attack on the Chinese civilian airship and affirmed its support for China’s position and its adherence to dialogue to resolve disputes between countries.
Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement on Thursday, “The Syrian Arab Republic condemns the attack launched by the US on the Chinese airship designated for civil research, which entered the US airspace due to force majeure and did not pose any military or civilian threat.
“As usual, the US resorts to the use of violence instead of dealing with such cases seriously and responsibly in accordance with the rules of international law”, the statement added.
Syria stressed its support for the Chinese position, its commitment to the values and purposes of the UN Charter, and its adherence to dialogue and diplomacy as means of finding a peaceful solution to disputes between countries, the statement concluded.
