Defense Minister inspects a military post in the Eastern region on occasion of Eid al-Adha

Damascus, SANA- Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister, Major Gen. Ali Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday paid a field visit to an army formation in the Eastern region on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.


Accompanied by senior officers of the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, Abbas met army personnel in their positions and conveyed to them greetings from President al-Assad, with wishes for health and success for all in performing their national tasks.

The Defense Minister was briefed by field commanders on the detailed explanation of the missions carried out by the army personnel operating in this army formation, praising the great efforts made by them in carrying out their combat missions.

The Defense Minister affirmed that what Syria had achieved in the face of aggression and terrorism was great and what we are witnessing today of cooperation and coordination between countries ,that refuse to be subservient to the forces of hegemony and colonialism, is  an extension of what we have achieved with our friends and allies on various arenas.

In turn, the army personnel affirmed their readiness to sacrifice their souls to protect the homeland, preserve its security and stability, and eliminate terrorism.

Also on this occasion, military commanders visited martyrs’ graveyards and placed wreaths on behalf of President al-Assad at memorials there.

They also visited the injured army personnel in some military hospitals and congratulated them on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, wishing them a swift recovery.
