Defense and Military Production Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Mohamed Zaki had talks on Monday with Commander of the United States Central Command General Michael Erik Kurilla on means to foster Egypt-US military cooperation.
The minister praised the long-standing partnership between the two countries’ armed forces, saying he is looking forward to furthering joint cooperation.
The US CENTCOM chief lauded the pivotal role played by Egypt in maintaining security, stability and balance in the region, highlighting the depth of bilateral strategic relations.
Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. General Osama Askar met earlier with the US commander and his accompanying delegation to exchange views on ways to boost military cooperation, especially in the fields of joint training and exchanging expertise.
Talks between the two sides were attended by top military brass and the acting US ambassador in Cairo.
