GAZA: Doctors Without Borders said today the Israeli military offensive in the densely overcrowded city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza, would constitute a real disaster, calling on Israel to halt it immediately.

The organization said that there is no safe place in Gaza and no way for people to leave.

“There is no safe place in Gaza,” it added, “and forced displacement has pushed people to Rafah while they are besieged and have no options.’

The organization also highlighted the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza Strip, stressing that the situation in the Strip requires a humanitarian response on a much larger scale.

It urgently called on all supporting governments, including the US, to take concrete measures to bring about a complete and immediate ceasefire.
