H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah was briefed about prospects of trade and investment cooperation between the UAE and the United Kingdom and the opportunities to enhance them in various promising economic sectors by building economic and trade partnerships, and opening up new channels that support the existing trade and investment exchange between them, as part of the strategic relations binding the two friendly countries in many fields towards further growth and prosperity.
This came when Sheikh Saud attended part of as part of the forum of the British trade delegation currently visiting the country with the heads and directors of government departments and representatives of companies operating in the emirate at the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort Spa Marjan Island, in cooperation and coordination between the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and the British Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
The forum aims to discuss investment opportunities between the
UK and the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in many vital fields and sectors that support sustainability, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship efforts, and enhance the growth of small and medium-sized companies.
The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah welcomed the visit of the British delegation, wishing it success in enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors in the two countries in many fields, and that these economic visits contribute to more fruitful trade and investment partnerships and stimulate knowledge exchange and joint economic work between the two sides.
During the meeting, which was attended by Oliver Christian, Consul General of the United Kingdom in Dubai, accompanied by a number of officials from the trade mission at the British Embassy and representatives of British companies.
Sheikh Saud praised relations with the UK, especially the economic and trade domains, which are witnessing continuous growth in light of the existence of large investment opportunities that support sustainable
growth.
In turn, Consul General of the United Kingdom in Dubai extended thanks and appreciation to the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah for the emirate’s hosting of this trade forum, which would boost the economic relations and open up broader horizons for cooperation between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the business sector in the United Kingdom.
