Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Saeed met Friday with Bahraini Minister of Sustainable Development Noor Bint Ali Al Khulaif to mull ways of boosting joint cooperation.

The meeting was held in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2022.

The theme for the 2022 HLPF is “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.

Saeed praised close ties between the two countries, particularly in light of the great attention paid by the political leadership in the two countries by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to shore up bilateral ties.

She also underlined the role of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the most important files it undertakes, noting that Egypt’s Vision 2030, which was launched by the State in 2016, is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

She further explained that this vision has been updated and will be launched soon.

She stressed the importance of updating the vision as an evergreen document that is continually edited and updated to include any local, regional or international changes.
