Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry Thursday restated his country’s support for Yemen’s legitimate government, and ongoing efforts to extend a UN-facilitated truce in Yemen and find a total and sustainable political settlement.

The Egyptian foreign minister made the remark during a meeting with his visiting Yemeni counterpart Ahmad bin Mubarak, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement.

He underlined that the political solution should be approved by all Yemeni groups and parties, ensure national unity and strengthen legitimate institutions, thanking the Yemeni government for continuously informing Cairo about the war-worn country’s latest situation.

During the meeting, the Yemeni official delivered Shukry a letter from Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi to Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi regarding bilateral relations.
