Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli met Sunday with President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Patrice Tlhopane Motsepe.
During the meeting, the premier said Egypt is fully supporting the CAF plans to develop African football and increasing the continent’s participation in international sports competitions.
The meeting also discussed CAF’s plans to establish a new headquarters in East Cairo.
Madbouli praised the African teams’ performance, especially Morocco, in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Egyptian state – with all its institutions – has always paid great attention to the sports file, the premier said.
He also affirmed Egypt’s readiness to host major sporting tournaments and events in light of its infrastructure and sports facilities developed in accordance with international standards.
