Egypt-Rwanda ties important due to geopolitical causes – FEI

General

Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) Mohamed Zaki el Sewedy asserted relations binding Egypt and Rwanda are very important due to geopolitical reasons as two Nile Basin countries.

Egypt and Rwanda share several joint factors and interests in the regional and international arenas, he added in an address, delivered on his behalf by the Executive Director of the FEI Khaled Abdel Azim at the Egyptian-Rwandan Business Forum on Monday.

The two countries are members of several regional organizations and blocs, according to him.

Sewedy said the Rwandan economic delegation’s visit followed talks between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame in Cairo, where the political leadership in both countries agreed on boosting economic cooperation through signing several memorandums of understanding in many economic fields.

He noted the visit is one in a series of visits paid by the Federation’s African cooperation committee and joint events and activities that brought together the private sector in the two countries to probe vistas of investment and joint trade.

Sewedy commended Rwanda’s pioneering experiment in development, which helped the country remove challenges and difficulties and achieve development on all fronts.

The forum is organized by the Federation with a high-level Rwandan delegation attending.

A number of Rwandan companies working in different economic activities took part in the gathering.
