Egypt to facilitate return of expats in Ukraine

Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram on Saturday 26/02/2022 held a virtual meeting with representatives of Egyptian expats in Ukraine to follow up the latest developments of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

In a statement, the emigration ministry said Makram made contacts with Egyptians crossing to the Ukrainian-Romanian border, including students, youth and families.

The minister stressed that she is in constant contact with all state agencies and embassies in the border countries with Ukraine to facilitate the crossing of Egyptians in the country.

Representatives of the Egyptian community and students in Ukraine will be provided with a list of safe border ports with Romania and Poland soon, Makram said.

The Egyptian state spares no effort towards the expats in Ukraine and is working in full swing to provide them with all support, whether to overcome the current crisis or to facilitate their return home, she added.
