Egyptian Prime Minister, FNC Speaker discuss deep-rooted ties

CAIRO: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, received yesterday Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), and his accompanying delegation in Cairo.

During the meeting, the Egyptian Prime Minister praised the deep-rooted UAE-Egypt ties, and the strong bonds between their leaderships and peoples.

Dr. Madbouly congratulated the UAE on the successful organisation of COP28, stressing that this success is an extension of the UAE’s remarkable track record in organising global events. He noted that the economic relations between their countries are seeing significant development, highlighting their collaboration on a number of vital projects.

Prime Minister Madbouly affirmed that Egypt and the UAE share the concern and desire to end the humanitarian crisis resulting from the war in the Gaza Strip, which continues to add to the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The FNC Speaker conveyed the greetings of the UAE leadership to the Egyptian President, and Dr. Madboul
y reciprocated the greetings on behalf of the President of Egypt.

Saqr Ghobash said that the historical and strategic relations between their countries are built on trust, understanding, and a common destiny.

He highlighted the warm hospitality shown to them since their arrival in Egypt, saying, “Although our visit is short, we have had the opportunity to see the great progress that Egypt is witnessing by implementing various major projects, the most prominent of which is the New Administrative Capital.”

With regard to the Gaza Strip, Saqr Ghobash affirmed that there is close cooperation between Egypt and the UAE to reach a solution to end the war, noting that this cooperation includes providing humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people. He praised Egypt’s vital role in finding a solution that ends the crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting was attended by Counsellor Alaa El-Din Fouad, Egypt’s Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, and Mariam Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt.
