The fifth round of the political consultations and follow up committee between Egypt and Saudi Arabia wound up in the Saudi capital on Thursday.
The round was held at the level of foreign ministers.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met his Saudi counterpart Faisal ben Farhan ahead of the meeting.
Then an expanded session of talks was held covering issues related to bilateral relations and regional and international issues.
Talks tackled the developments of the Palestinian issue, the situation in Libya, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen and other regional issues.
They exchanged viewpoints towards the current international developments and agreed on maintaining coordination towards international crises.
At the end of the talks, a joint statement was issued on all topics that were tackled by the political consultations committee.
