During an official meeting in Cairo on Saturday, Egypt’s Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi, who also heads the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, pledged to his Lebanese counterpart, Georges Kallas, to rehabilitate the field of the stadium of President Camille Chamoun Sports City in Beirut, and to send a technical work team to develop the needed plan soon.

The meeting came as a continuation of what was discussed in Beirut during the presence of the Egyptian Minister at the closing ceremony of ‘Beirut – Capital of Arab Youth,’ where Sobhi pledged to adopt this dossier and to send a technical team soon to the Lebanese capital to examine the stadium’s field in preparation for its rehabilitation.

Talks also touched on activating the cooperation agreement between the two countries and transferring the experience of building the ‘Olympic Champion’ from Egypt to Lebanon.
