Egypt’s annual inflation registered 14.9 percent in April, compared to 4.4 percent in the same month of 2021, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said.
On a monthly basis, inflation recorded 129 points last month, recording a 3.7 percent increase compared to March 2022, according to the CAPMAS.
CAPMAS attributed the rise in the annual inflation rate to the notable increase in the prices of vegetables by 32%, the fish and seafood group by 12.1%, the fruit group by 11.9%, the meat and poultry group by 5.4%, the cereals and bread group by 3.6% and the dairy, cheese and eggs group by 1.3%.
