Electricity Minister, Nigerian Energy Minister discuss joint cooperation

Confirming the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s vision and the political leadership to strengthen the bonds of cooperation with Africa, especially in the electricity and renewable energy sector, Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker received on Tuesday 24/1/2023 Nigerian Minister of Energy Abubakar D.Aliyu and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to support and enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of electricity and renewable energy.

At the beginning of the meeting, Shaker praised the distinguished relations with African countries, especially Nigeria.

Shaker reviewed the achievements of electricity and renewable energy sector, stressing the interest of the sector to spread the uses of renewable energies.

He pointed out to the great challenges that Egypt faced in providing energy to the local market during a previous stage, and the efforts made by the Egyptian electricity sector to secure and sustain the supply of electrical energy to meet development requirements.

Shaker also referred to the efforts made by the electricity sector to improve and develop all services in the electricity sector, including production, transmission and distribution.
