Emigration, education ministers open Speak Arabic celebration

Minister of State for Emigration Nabila Makram and Education Minister Tarek Shawki opened on Saturday “Etkalem Arabi” Speak Arabic celebration at an international school in Cairo.

Makram, in this regard, said the presidential initiative of Etkalem Arabi aims to maintain the Egyptian identity and Arab language among the Egyptian expats abroad, stressing the principles of mutual respect and acceptance.

Makram pointed out that the Emigration Ministry cooperated with the Education Ministry to develop the curricula, mentioning that a new subject tackling the principle of acceptance was added.

The minister noted that the president directed officials concerned to develop the language skills of Egyptians abroad through listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Meantime, Shawki expressed his happiness for the fruitful and effective cooperation with the Emigration Ministry in activating Etkalem Arabi initiative, pointing out that the curricula of the Arabic language, Islamic and Christian education, and the curriculum of values and respect for the other would be available online on the initiative’s app.
