Emirates Environmental Group Concludes Successful 24th Cycle of Student Workshops

Dubai: The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) successfully concluded its 24th Cycle of Student Workshops, a three-day series of virtual sessions held from October 21 to 23, aimed at fostering sustainability and environmental awareness among students across the nation. The workshops engaged 433 students from 71 schools, encompassing both government and private institutions, under the theme 'Reevaluating Reality: Discovering Our Sustainable City.' According to Emirates News Agency, the workshops were tailored for different educational levels, with the first day focusing on junior students aged 10-12, the second day on sub-senior students aged 13-15, and the final day on senior students aged 16-18. The event featured support from the EEG team and presentations by notable speakers, including Mariam Hamal from Hatta Honey, who highlighted the importance of bee gardens in ecological balance, and Maya Taher, a Human Behavioral Expert, who addressed "Mindful Living and Mental Health Awareness" as a component of a su stainable future. On the concluding day, senior students participated in a session on "Vertical Farming" led by Patricia Hakim, Founder of DDD Consultancy Bureau. This presentation explored urban agricultural methods as a means to transform cities into sustainable food sources, crucial for future urban planning. Throughout the workshops, students engaged in AI-facilitated feedback processes, expressing that the sessions were inspiring and provided them with practical knowledge and a new outlook on environmental reality. Habiba Al Mar'ashi, EEG's Co-Founder and Chairperson, emphasized the importance of these workshops in raising awareness and building the capacity of students to address sustainability issues. She expressed confidence that participants gained valuable insights and formed connections to help them act responsibly and integrate sustainable practices into their lives. The workshops exemplified EEG's dedication to empowering the next generation of sustainability leaders by equipping them with the necessary tools to tackle environmental challenges, thereby ensuring a more sustainable future for all.
