Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad met with Citibank representatives to discuss joint cooperation in the climate finance file, especially in the context of Egypt’s presidency of the upcoming COP27 climate conference.
Fouad stressed the importance of working on adaptation financing to ensure that the necessary funding is provided to implement adaptation measures to the effects of climate change in many pressing areas of humanity such as agriculture.
For their part, the bank representatives affirmed their keenness to learn about priority issues for Egypt and to coordinate with the various concerned ministries to discuss issues related to climate finance, available opportunities, and ways to benefit from sustainability bonds.
