Minister of Environment Muawieh Radaideh met Thursday with UAE Ambassador to Jordan, Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammad bin Khalid Al Nahyan. During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance joint cooperation, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples, specifically with regard to environmental issues, and the active role played by the leaderships of the two countries in this field. Radaideh lauded the deep-rooted ties between the two brotherly countries, expressing appreciation to the UAE’s role towards Jordan and its issues in many fields, and the environmental one in particular. Radaideh briefed the UAE envoy ton Jordan key achievements and its challenges in the field of environmental protection and the necessary measures to face climate challenges that have become a real threat to the global system, referring to the active Jordanian participation in international conferences on climate change, including the Sharm el-Sheikh COP-27 conference. For his part, Sheikh Khalifa Al Nahyan commended relations between the two brotherly countries, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination at all levels, specifically in the environmental protection field and joint work to confront climate challenges. Sheikh Khalifa lauded the Jordanian role in this field and the measures it has taken, and its commitment to its international pledges towards all environmental issues.
