Environment Minister tours Ras Mohamed nature reserve

Environment Minister Yasmeen Fouad has toured Ras Mohamed Nature Reserve to inspect the environmental situation and encourage the revival of ecotourism.

The visit was paid on Saturday 26/03/2022 to the Sinai Peninsula’s reserve on the sidelines of the Environment Ministry’s celebrations on launching the national dialogue on climate change in the coastal city of Sharm El Sheikh.

The minister underlined the importance of the reserve for world ecotourism, noting that the state is doing its utmost protect biodiversity and face the negative impacts of climate change, noting that Egypt is set to host the UN Climate Change Conference, (COP27), in November in Sharm El Sheikh.

The minister was accompanied by a host of lawmakers, representatives of Al Azhar, the Coptic Church and the National Council for Women and a number of media professionals and journalists.

Fouad also highlighted growing development rates in Egypt in different domains, particularly the field of protection of nature reserves to preserve natural and cultural heritage.
