The European Union said it is alarmed by news that settlers are currently attacking the Palestinian town of Turmusaya and other villages in the West Bank and setting fire to Palestinian property, including vehicles. One Palestinian has been reportedly killed and four seriously injured. ‘We condemn the current outbreak of settler violence across the West Bank, resulting in unacceptable indiscriminate violence against Palestinian civilians and the destruction of Palestinian property,’ said the EU in a statement. ‘We recall that Israel has the obligation to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians in the occupied territory,’ it said.
