Fenerbahce on Thursday decided to ban seven fans from entering their stadium who threw objects towards the pitch during a Europa League match against Sevilla. “We would like to inform you that seven people determined by the club regarding this issue have been banned from entering our stadium indefinitely,” Fenerbahce said in a statement. On March 16, the Round of 16 second leg match was interrupted for several minutes after Fenerbahce fans appeared to throw objects, including lighters, onto the pitch. The match ended with a 1-0 score in favor of the Istanbul side, but Sevilla progressed to quarterfinals with a 2-1 aggregate win at the Ulker Stadium.
