Finance Minister Makis Keravnos discussed on Thursday in a meeting with the Greek Ambassador to Cyprus Ioannis Papameletiou the challenges of the international economic environment and the need to strengthen bilateral relations. According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the Greek Ambassador congratulated Keravnos on his assumption of office and assured him of the continuation of close cooperation between Cyprus and Greece on economic issues. It is added that during the meeting there was an exchange of views on bilateral relations, with the Minister of Finance referring to the excellent relations between Cyprus and Greece and the need to continuously strengthen them for mutual benefit. The two officials also discussed the conditions in the international economic environment and the challenges facing both countries, while Keravnos briefed the Greek Ambassador on the state of the Cypriot economy and stressed the commitment of the new government to implement an economic policy within the framework of fiscal discipline and financial stability, the statement concluded.
