RAMALLAH: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki today said that “Israel has crushed international law” after nearly 143 days of its brutal aggression against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

He said in a statement regarding the ongoing Israeli bloodbath in Gaza, which claimed so for the lives of nearly 30,000 persons, this aggression deprived the Palestinians` right to self-determination and the establishment of the Palestinian state.

“Its genocidal war, and its crimes against the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, most importantly the right to self-determination, independence and return.

Al-Maliki added during his speech at the 55th regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, in Geneva, that Israel is destroying human rights, is granted impunity, and is being provided with vetoes and weapons, under double standards, selectivity in applying international law.

He further condemned the role of international insinuations in taking concrete measures t
o deter Israel and hold it accountable for committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

He pointed out that Israel has killed more than 29,600 citizens, the majority of whom are children and women since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and more than 1.5 million Palestinians have been forcibly deported and besieged in the city of Rafah, where genocide and forced displacement took place.

Al-Maliki continued 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are being subjected to massacre and deprivation, and have become victims of disease, epidemic, hunger and thirst, as Israel uses famine and the lack of treatment and medicine as a weapon of war.

He pointed out that the Israeli war machine deliberately bombed infrastructure, homes, hospitals and educational institutions, to cause harm and create dire living conditions for the Palestinian people.

He explained that the occupation intensified its attack on United Nations organizations in general, especially on UNRWA, to undermi
ne its significant role.

He called for the necessity of taking a firm international stance to reject the plans of Netanyahu and his government, stressing that there is no alternative to UNRWA and its role, now and in the future, and refusing to reduce its tasks or weaken its funding and mandate, until the rights of Palestinian refugees to return are achieved, based on Resolution 194.

He stressed that the crimes of the Israeli occupation and the terrorism of the colonizers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, continue and are completely linked to the colonial system and the apartheid that Israel has established in the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory.

“There is no safe place in the occupied Palestinian territory, and in every corner we see death, pain and destruction, “he added.
