UGANDA: On the sidelines of the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Uganda, Kampala, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad al-Malki held separate meetings with his Tunisian, Colombian and Brazilian counterparts, during which they underscored the urgency of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

During a meeting with Tunisian Foreign Minister, Nabil Ammar, Malki discussed the Israeli obstacles blocking efforts for the relief of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, including efforts to ensure the entry of urgent food and medical supplies to Gaza.

The two ministers also discussed diplomatic efforts exerted in various relevant international forums, in addition to contacts made to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and provide protection to innocent civilians there.

Malki also briefed Brazil’s Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, on the latest developments in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and challenges facing the Palestinian people as a result of Israel’s aggression and
schemes.

During a separate meeting with Colombia’s Foreign Minister, Álvaro Leyva, Malki discussed international actions and efforts to promptly stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people as well as the need to enforce the necessary mechanisms to achieve a ceasefire and ensure unrestricted open access for the delivery of urgent essential humanitarian needs for the people of the Strip.
