FM voices optimism about upcoming Arab summit in Algeria

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has expressed optimism about an upcoming Arab summit in Algeria.

Speaking to Al Arabiya channel on Saturday 29/10/2022, Shoukry said that Egypt is set to launch an initiative to counter the climate change negative impacts at the United Nations climate change conference (COP27), to be hosted by Sharm El Sheikh in November.

Trillions of dollars are needed to cut bad emissions, Shoukry said, calling for setting any political differences aside at the conference.

The minister also lauded close cooperation and ongoing coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
