Minister of Health Mai Alkaila today said that the Israeli occupation authorities every day escalate their violation of international humanitarian, accusing the Israeli forces of attacking medical and ambulance crews, obstructing their work, and depriving patients of access to necessary treatment as was the case today in Nablus.

“The whole world witnessed how at dawn today the Israeli occupation forces obstructed the work of paramedics and ambulances in Balata refugee camp in Nablus while they were carrying out their humanitarian duty to transport the wounded and provide them with treatment,” said the minister in a statement.

Three Palestinians were killed in the army assault today in Balata, six others were injured, one of them seriously, and several homes were severely damaged in the assault on the over-crowded refugee camp that lasted for several hours.

The Health Minister noted that the Israeli occupation forces and settlers obstruct, on a daily basis, the movement of health personnel, paramedics, and ambulances within and between cities, in addition to impeding the movement of patients and depriving them of obtaining the necessary treatment.

She said the Council of Arab Ministers of Health yesterday called on the international community and human rights organizations to urgently and immediately intervene to stop the Israeli violations against health workers, paramedics, clinics, and patients in the occupied territories, stressing that every patient should have the right to obtain medical treatment at any time as guaranteed by international humanitarian laws.
