RAMALLAH: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly denounced the assault committed by Israeli colonists yesterday against a Christian monk at the entrance of Bab al-Nabi Daoud in occupied Jerusalem.

In a press statement, the Foreign Ministry described this attack as “a colonial and racist act that reflects a culture of hatred, animosity, and denial of the existence of the other.”

It said the attack “reflects the extent of incitement and racist mobilization received by elements of extremist colonial organizations, whether through religious schools, the advisory opinions of extremist rabbis, or the incitement campaigns and positions declared by ministers in the Israeli government, such as Itamar Ben-Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich, and others.”

The statement pointed out that “the sense of political and legal impunity felt by colonists encourages them to persist in sowing seeds of hatred and committing heinous crimes and provocative assaults against Palestinian citizens and followers of other relig
ions.”

Furthermore, the statement emphasized the alarming influence of the extremist Israeli right-wing culture on numerous decision-making centers in the occupying state, reflecting the prevalence of its dark, peace-opposing ideology across successive generations of extremists.
