The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed “great concern” about the ongoing developments in the Middle East region, calling to put an end to escalation.

“We are following with great concern the events and developments in the Middle East, after the entire region has reached the edge of the abyss,” said the Foreign Ministry in a statement on Monday.

“This comes as the war on Gaza continues for the seventh month, and amid the failure to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2728 to cease the war in Gaza, and to return to the political path based on the two-state solution and the relevant UN resolutions,” it added.

The Foreign Ministry also urged to end escalation and threats of war and retaliation, calling to respect the international law and resolutions “to avert the repercussions of the conflagration of the entire Middle East, which jeopardizes regional peace and security.”
