Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad discussed on Monday with representatives of a consortium of companies of solid waste management system in Sharm El-Sheikh (BEEAH Group – Green Plant) to turn the Red Sea resort into a green city and raise the level of cleaning in the city.

The meeting was attended by officials of the two companies.

Fouad lauded the fruitful cooperation with the Emirati side in various fields, praising efforts exerted by the UAE to host the UN climate conference, COP28.

The minister tackled coming steps to implement the new system to manage solid waste in Sharm El-Sheikh and outlined a clear vision for the roles and responsibilities of the Ministries of Environment and Local Development, South Sinai governorate and the two companies.

She also reviewed the work plan of the new system across the city during the period of the UN climate conference and after it.
