Chief Executive Director of the General Authority for Investment & Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Abdel Wahab asserted that the authority intensifies its efforts to attract Japanese investments for their added value and developmental benefits for the Egyptian economy.

This came during the second meeting of the Egyptian-Japanese investment committee under Abdel Wahab and Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Oka Hiroshi.

The meeting was attended by the chairman of the General Authority for Industrial Development, chairman of Japanese Business Association, chairman of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and representatives of major Japanese companies operating in Egypt.

The GAFI succeeded in attracting several new Japanese investors to Egypt and encouraging Japanese companies working in Egypt to expand in the Egyptian market, Abdel Wahab said.

The government took several steps to improve the investment environment and develop new policies to attract foreign direct investment, Abdel Wahab said, asserting the presenting all the facilitation to the Japanese institutions working in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Hiroshi lauded the role of the Egyptian-Japanese investment committee to supporting the Japanese investment in Egypt and shedding light on the investment opportunities to encourage more Japanese investors to pump new investments in Egypt.
