Gaza – Approximately 70 percent of the Gaza Strip’s 2.3 million population has been displaced from their homes due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes since October 7.

According to Jordan News Agency, this large-scale displacement is a direct result of the sustained bombardment. The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor confirmed that the Gaza Strip has been subjected to bombing with 1,000 tons of explosives, averaging 82 tons per square kilometer. The report further reveals that the per capita share of explosives from these attacks exceeded 10 kilograms. The government media office also mentioned that around 2 percent of Gaza’s total population has been directly affected by Israel’s indiscriminate bombing over the past month. There has been a significant human toll, with a person injured every minute, 15 people dying every hour, including 6 children and 5 women. The airstrikes have also had a devastating impact on infrastructure. Many hospitals and primary care centers in Gaza are not operational, with half of the hospitals and 62 percent of primary care centers out of service. Housing units have suffered extensive damage, with 50 percent being damaged and 10 percent completely destroyed. The education system and religious centers have also been severely affected, with 33 percent of schools and 14 percent of mosques damaged, and 9 percent of schools and 5 percent of mosques either out of service or completely demolished. The death toll from these air raids has reached more than 10,000 Palestinians, including 4,104 children and 2,641 women, with over 25,000 injuries since October 7. In the West Bank, 160 Palestinians have been killed and 2,150 have been arrested, as per official Palestinian sources.
