Germany’s retail sales surpassingly dropped 1.3% month-on-month in February, as persistent inflation continued dampening consumer demand, according to data released on Friday. The market expected the real (price-adjusted) turnover of retail enterprises would rise 0.5% in February, following January’s revised 0.1% hike. On a yearly basis, retail sales tumbled by 7.1% in February, Destatis data showed.
