DUBLIN: Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, signed a cooperation agreement with Seán Fearghaíl, Speaker of the Irish Lower House of Parliament, in Dublin.

The agreement aims to establish a framework for cooperation and joint work in the fields of tolerance and peace. Under the agreement, a representative of the Irish Parliament will be granted membership in the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace. The agreement also stipulates that the two sides collaborate to organise initiatives and conferences promoting peace and tolerance in various fields; and recognises the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace as a focal point for mobilising and aligning international tolerance and peace efforts.

Fearghaíl affirmed the support of his country’s Parliament for the Council’s work and projects, and the need to support laws that combat religious and ethnic extremism and terrorism.

The Council’s delegation included a number of members of the International Pa
rliament for Tolerance and Peace.
