Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait highlighted presidential directives to continue efforts in support of Egyptian exports sector despite daunting challenges taking its toll on world economies.

According to the minister, the current economic crisis, along with all its crippling effects gripping the world, would never impede efforts meant to support the exports sector in Egypt.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance Thursday 15/12/2022, Maait said a number of initiatives have been floated during the period from October 2019 till now to ease burden on exporters and settle exporters ‘ arrears.

The Minister of Finance said that the ministry has disbursed LE 42.5 billion to more than 2,500 exporting companies to provide cash liquidity needed for exporting companies, to fulfill their obligations towards their clients and keep employment by allowing the payment of the total value of exporters’ dues rather than paying them in installments, the statement said.

All drives are meant to increase State’s productive abilities, up exports and hone competitiveness of Egyptian products before world markets, with a view to achieve an ambitious plan aimed to increase Egypt exports to dlrs 100 billion, it added.
