Govt denies launching online loan applications

The media center of the cabinet denied on Thursday reports that the Ministry of Communications is about to launch mobile applications enabling citizens to get loans.

In a statement, the center said it contacted the ministry that dismissed the reports as groundless.

All circulated applications are fake, the ministry said, stressing that all applications launched by the ministry are available at Egypt’s digital portal and no one of them is a loan application.

It urged citizens to be careful and not to be deceived by such fake applications, stressing that all necessary legal action would be taken against those application mongers.

The center urged media outlets to verify the authenticity of reports before publishing them to avoid disrupting public order.
