The media center of the cabinet denied on Sunday media reports that the cash payment program of Takaful and Karama pensions was suspended this month.

In a statement, the center contacted the Social Solidarity Ministry that dismissed as groundless such reports, saying no new decisions as regards Takaful and Karama pension program was issued.

Pension payment operations are going on regularly, the ministry said, urging whoever encounters any problem as regards his/her card to file a complaint through “https://tk.moss.gov.eg/” or contact hotline 19680.

Takaful and Karama project provides medical support to families with pre-school children, who are less than six years old, and to pregnant mothers.

The medical support requires that families implement all of the steps stipulated in healthcare program by the Ministry of Health. The maximum number of beneficiaries of this program are three children per household.

With regard to Karama, its objective is to provide support for elderly people and persons with disabilities. The elderly is classified as any person above 65 years of age who is not able to work and must belong to a family with no fixed income, such as a social security pension. For special needs, people should submit a medical certificate from the Ministry of Health, proving that the individual is unable to work.

The program offers each individual in a family who meets the program conditions EGP 325 per month.

The center urged media outlets to verify the authenticity of any news before publishing them.
