Govt denies suspending schools during Ramadan

The media center of the cabinet denied on Thursday reports that schools will be suspended during the holy fasting month of Ramadan over growing coronavirus infections.

The center said it contacted the Education Ministry that dismissed as groundless the reports, saying no decision was issued to suspend schools in Ramadan.

The ministry said any decision to suspend the educational process should be taken by the higher committee for coronavirus crisis management based on updates on the epidemiological situation in the country.

The educational process is regular in all schools across the nation in accordance with the timetable of 2021/2022 academic year, the ministry said.

It urged media outlets to verify the authenticity of news before publishing them.
