His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Sir Jackie Stewart, the 1970’s F1 champion, on the occasion of his visit to the kingdom to attend Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023.

HM the King welcomed Sir Jakie Stewart, hailing his visit to the kingdom to attend the annual international race. He praised his achievements in F1 which enjoys large international popularity.

HM the King and Sir Jakie Stewart exchanged talks on F1 and the role of such sport gatherings in promoting rapprochement between people and cultural exchange. His Majesty wished Sir Jakie Stewart a good stay in Bahrain.

Sir Jakie Stewart expressed thanks and appreciation to HM the King for the gracious welcome, extending most sincere congratulations on the achievement acclaimed by the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and the Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who won first place in the FEI Endurance World Championship, making him the champion of the 160 km race in Abu Dhabi.
