IDSC organizes workshop on impact of climate change

A workshop organized by the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) kicked off Sunday with the aim to rebuild a better post-Covid future and to shed light on the impact of climate change on sustainable development.

The two-day event is organized by the IDSC in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and is attended by representatives of government bodies concerned, international partners and experts.

It comes as part of national efforts to build potentials to face disasters and reduce threats to sustainable development.

The workshop is meant to engage national institutions concerned in risk detection and assessment activities with the aim to reduce threats.

The idea is to also integrate such activities into the sustainable development policies, while taking into consideration health aspects and biological threats, as well as the impact of climate change on sustainable development.

All this is done within the framework of a 2030 national strategy to reduce risks from disasters.

Egypt is adopting a 2030 national sustainable development vision in all economic and social fields with the aim to achieve the UN sustainable development goals.
