Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and the Minister of Labor Youssef Shamali on Thursday met with the Chairman and Board members of the Iraqi-Jordanian Company for Industry (IJCI), owned by the Jordanian and Iraqi governments, which is implementing a joint economic city project . Shamali stressed the importance of working at full speed to implement the joint economic city project, which was the culmination of a tripartite summit between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq, with aim of enhancing economic cooperation in various fields and achieving development goals in Jordan and Iraq. He said a developer for the project will be contracted during the first quarter of the current year. For his part, Chairman of the company Yanal Baramawy gave a briefing on the latest regarding a tender for the project, adding that it is expected to be implemented by 2023.
