Manama, INJAZ Bahrain, a member of INJAZ Al-Arab and a member of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide, the largest non-profit education organization in the world and Nasser Vocational Training Centre are working together to upskill INJAZ students in the principles of deep learning and the future of artificial intelligence.

This comes as part of an ongoing strategic partnership which has been established over the years in an aim to catalyze and nurture labor development among the Kingdom of Bahrain’s youth, empower them with the latest skills by bridging the gap between education and future market requirements.

In line with this commitment, 26 INJAZ Bahrain students from across different universities completed an online course titled “AI & Deep Learning” delivered by Nasser Vocational Training Centre.

The AI and Deep Learning course is a hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and the vital tools required to develop deep learning models. The course has also provided students with insights on model architecture, data augmentation and model transfer learning.

Hana Sarwani, INJAZ Bahrain Executive Director, commented, “We are proud to continue working with our partner, Nasser Vocational Training Centre to upskill our students on the Artificial Intelligence front. The course, delivered by industry experts sharing their first-hand knowledge and insights, has been designed to help our students explore the process of Deep learning and put their knowledge into practice using the latest AI tools. We extend our gratitude to the Nasser Vocational Training Centre team for this great opportunity and for their continuous support in developing and educating our students.”

Dr. Abdulla bin Naser Al Noaimi, CEO of Nasser Vocational Training Centre, indicated that the centre’s partnership with a strategic leader in youth-business empowerment such as INJAZ Bahrain, to train Bahraini youth on artificial intelligence and its applications through Nasser Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Centre, is the beginning of an integrated work and unifing efforts to support entrepreneurship, enhancing it with technological innovations, and motivating Bahraini youth to digital creativity through one of the most prominent features of the era: Artificial Intelligence.

Al Noaimi added that the recent efforts in establishing educational tracks of AI and Cloud Computing, which made NVTC the first Centre in Bahrain to embrace these qualitative tracks, were a response to the current and rapid developments in the technological arena and their impact on the business system efficiency, which will require providing working cadres and students with the necessary skills to keep pace with the digital transformation requirements in the government and private sectors.

The 8-hour digital course was developed by leading technology firm, NVIDIA and is expected to be delivered to a new batch of students in the upcoming months.
