International cooperation min., WB vice president discuss current projects

International Cooperation Minister Rania el Mashat, Egypt’s governor at the World Bank, tackled boosting the joint cooperation efforts within the framework of the developmental state priorities and the preparations for the 27th United Nations Climate Conference (COP 27) due in Sharm el Sheikh in November as part of the activities of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank (WB) 2022 in Washington.

She also discussed promoting for the national platform of the green projects of NWFE program in addition to the latest preparations for launching the Sharm El-Sheikh Guidebook for Just Financing.

In a meeting with World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa Region Ferid Belhaj, Mashat discussed the current cooperation portfolio between Egypt and the World Bank, especially in relation to preparations for COP 27 in addition to the reform policies and programs on which Egypt is working to implement.

Meanwhile, World Bank Managing Director of Operations Axel van Trotsenburg to discuss the future projects between Egypt and the WB.

Mashat also conferred with European Investment Bank Vice President Gelsomina Vigliotti cooperation between the government and the European Investment Bank in addition to the current projects of the fields of transport, food and renewable energy.

Meanwhile, Vigliotti expressed the bank’s keenness on boosting future cooperation with the Egyptian government to boost the development efforts, especially within the framework of COP 27.
