Iran’s representative to UN: illegitimate presence of foreign forces in Syria threatens international peace and security

New York,Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irwani, affirmed that the illegitimate  presence of foreign forces in Syria endangers international peace and security and provides support for terrorists.

“Attacks carried out by the illegitimate troops particularly in the north eastern of Syria constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and UN charter “, Irwani said in the UN security council session about Syria on Wednesday.

Irwani  reiterated  his country’s condemnation of the  Israeli aggressions on Syria , asserting that they  are a war crime and a blatant  violation of the Syrian sovereignty  and the humanitarian rights , calling  on the security council to oblige the Zionist entity to ensure its responsibility for  those violations

He also stressed that the solution to the crisis in Syria must be by peaceful means and on the basis of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, and respect for Syria’s independence, national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Irawani denounced the plundering of the Syrian people’s natural resources particularly oil calling for lifting the unilateral economic coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.
