The Council of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) held a working session with the authority’s Central Directorate for Legal Affairs and Campaign Monitoring, devoted to the preparation of two draft regulatory decisions, related to the setting up of the second chamber of Parliament.

ISIE President Farouk Bouasker told TAP that the first draft sets out the rules for the organisation of the elections for the local councils and the National Council of Districts and Regions, which is expected to crown the election process.

The second draft deals with the regulations governing the conditions and procedures for withdrawing confidence, and sets out a model petition, as provided for in Decree no. 55 of 2022, amending the organic law on elections and referendums.
