Beirut: A series of Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza on Thursday resulted in significant loss of life and injuries, affecting both civilians and military personnel, as regional tensions continue to escalate. According to Jordan News Agency, the strikes in Lebanon claimed the lives of two individuals when an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on the Beirut-Bekaa highway near Kahaleh. A separate strike in Tyre resulted in one fatality and left another person injured as they traveled on a motorcycle. Additional strikes in the towns of Biyout Al-Siyad, Mansouri, and Tebnine led to extensive damage, as reported by Lebanese security sources. In Syria, an Israeli airstrike targeted military positions in Damascus and Homs, killing one Syrian soldier and injuring seven others. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) indicated that these attacks were launched from the occupied Golan Heights and northern Lebanon, causing substantial material damage and triggering explosions that were audible in Damascus. In the Gaza Strip, an Israeli air raid resulted in the deaths of a child and her mother when their house in the Jabalia refugee camp was bombed. The Gaza Civil Defense reported that three of its members were injured during a separate attack in Sheikh Zayed, north of Beit Lahia, while engaged in rescue operations. Additionally, five civil defense personnel were detained by Israeli forces in the same area, impeding their capacity to deliver humanitarian aid. Further casualties in southern Lebanon were reported when three Lebanese soldiers, including an officer, were killed by an Israeli airstrike during a medical evacuation mission in Yatar, near Bint Jbeil. The Lebanese Army confirmed these fatalities, stating that the Israeli military targeted the soldiers as they assisted wounded individuals.
