Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Result in Civilian Deaths and Widespread Destruction

Gaza City, Gaza – A series of Israeli airstrikes across Gaza early Sunday has led to significant civilian casualties and extensive damage to homes, medical facilities, and agricultural sites.

According to Jordan News Agency, these airstrikes targeted various locations, including a United Nations Development Program’s shelter in Gaza City’s Nasr neighborhood, resulting in deaths and injuries. The strikes also impacted medical facilities, with a doctor losing his life at the Mahdi Hospital for childbirth in the same neighborhood. Displaced individuals within these facilities are now seeking urgent assistance and evacuation, appealing to the International Committee of the Red Cross for support.

Educational institutions housing displaced persons were also hit, intensifying concerns over civilian safety in these areas. Key infrastructure, such as the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia and the Shifa Medical Complex, was also targeted. The continuous shelling and airstrikes have aggravated the crisis, leading to further casualties.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating rapidly due to the ongoing conflict, which began in early October. The death toll includes over 11,100 people, of which over 8,000 are children and women. International medical organizations are urgently calling for a halt to attacks on hospitals to facilitate the treatment and rescue of the injured.
